    Air conditioning installation cost
    Honest pricing

How much does air conditioning installation cost?

[PRICE RANGES TO BE ADDED — a single room from £X to £Y, a multi-room system from £X to £Y, commercial priced per project, then one line on what moves the number]

Nobody can quote your property from a web page, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can do is tell you honestly what the work costs, what changes the number, and why the survey exists.

What you are actually paying for

A price for air conditioning is not a price for a box on a wall. It covers the design, the units themselves, the pipework and containment that connect them, the electrical work, the installation labour, commissioning the system so it runs properly, and the legally-controlled handling of refrigerant that only an F-Gas registered business can carry out. The cheap quotes in this market are usually cheap because one of those is missing.

    What genuinely changes the price

    WhatWhy it moves the number
Number of rooms and indoor unitsA single split serving one room is the simplest job there is. A multi-split runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit: more expensive overall, usually cheaper per room than separate systems, and tidier outside.
Distance from indoor unit to outdoor unitLonger pipe runs mean more refrigerant, more containment, more labour, and sometimes more disruption to get the route through the building.
The electrical supplySome properties need a new circuit or a consumer unit change before a system can be run safely. It is better to find that at survey than on the day.
Where the outdoor unit can goGround floor with clear access is straightforward. A flat roof, a listed building, a conservation area, a restricted rear access or anything needing scaffolding adds real cost.
The units themselvesQuieter, more efficient units from the premium ranges cost more than entry-level equivalents and are worth it in a bedroom. We fit Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Samsung and will explain the difference rather than just quoting the cheapest.
Making good afterwardsHow the pipework is concealed, whether trunking is painted in, how the wall is finished. Cheap quotes often assume you will live with surface trunking.
Domestic versus commercialCommercial and industrial systems are a different specification entirely: larger capacity, often VRF, priced per project rather than per room, and usually with a maintenance contract alongside.

    Why we survey before quoting

A figure that is right for a single-storey extension is meaningless for a Victorian conversion three streets away. A short survey lets us give you a fixed price for your property rather than a headline that changes once someone actually looks at the job. It also means we spot the electrical work, the awkward pipe route or the planning consideration before you have committed to anything, not afterwards. [SURVEY TERMS AND DURATION TO BE CONFIRMED]

What is included in our quote

Design, supply, installation, commissioning, F-Gas compliant refrigerant handling, and the manufacturer warranty on the equipment. [WARRANTY LENGTHS TO BE CONFIRMED]

What is not included is anything we find that is not ours to assume — an electrical upgrade the property needs, scaffolding, or making good beyond the agreed finish. Those appear on the quote as separate lines rather than as a surprise.

    Common questions

    [TO BE CONFIRMED]

    [TO BE CONFIRMED]

Sometimes. Read what is in it. If two quotes differ by a lot, the difference is usually the electrical work, the making good, or the unit specification — ask which.
